Serving Our Communities with the Hands and Feet of Christ
Needs exist everywhere, in our own neighborhoods and in communities around the world.
Some people are hungry. Others are homeless. Some are elderly, disabled, blind, or facing an unexpected crisis. Others simply need someone to listen, pray with them, encourage them, and remind them that they are loved by God.
Our Community Care Ministry exists to meet people where they are, responding to practical needs while sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ. Whether serving locally or globally, we believe every act of compassion is an opportunity to reflect God's love in a tangible way.
One of the most visible expressions of Christ's love is feeding those who are hungry.
Working alongside local churches and trusted ministry partners, we prepare and distribute meals to individuals and families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and poverty. But our goal extends beyond providing food.
We spend time listening, building relationships, praying with people, encouraging them, and sharing the hope of the Gospel. Every meal becomes an opportunity to remind someone that they are seen, valued, and deeply loved by God.
Sometimes the greatest needs are unexpected and deeply personal.
Through our Benevolence Ministry, we prayerfully assist individuals and families facing extraordinary circumstances when God provides the opportunity and resources to respond.
One such example involved helping an elderly Cuban woman receive sight-restoring cataract surgery. Because the procedure was unavailable where she lived, her daughter traveled with her to Spain in search of medical care. Through the generosity of our supporters, we helped provide lodging during part of their extended stay while they navigated the healthcare system. After years of living with severe vision loss, she was finally able to see again.
Stories like these remind us that while we may provide practical assistance, every blessing ultimately comes from God. Our desire is never to draw attention to ourselves, but to point people to Jesus Christ—the true source of hope, healing, and restoration.
Communities face countless challenges, and often a single act of kindness can change someone's life.
Depending on available resources and local needs, our Community Care Ministry may provide assistance such as:
Sometimes the greatest gift is not the item itself, but the dignity, independence, and hope it restores.
Healthy communities are strengthened through healthy local churches.
We encourage and support pastors and ministry leaders who faithfully serve their communities every day. They are often the first to respond when families experience hardship, illness, hunger, disaster, or personal crisis.
By equipping and encouraging these local leaders, we help strengthen ministries that continue serving long after a mission team has returned home.
Community Care is intentionally broad because every community is different, and every need is unique.
Whether feeding the hungry, visiting the homebound, assisting someone with a disability, supporting a family during a crisis, encouraging a pastor, or responding to an unexpected emergency, we seek to serve wherever God opens the door.
To love people well.
To serve with humility.
To restore dignity.
And in everything we do, to faithfully share the love, compassion, and hope found in Jesus Christ.
